Looking Up When Life is Looking Down- Beth Moore

It's Time for you to sing a New Song!
Life can be hard and challenging, oftentimes prompting confusion, despair, and the feeling that God has abandoned you and there's no way out. Sometime's life's challenges are the result of bad choices, and sometimes they hit for no logical reason. In Looking Up When Life is Looking Down,  best-selling author Beth Moore unveils for you- whatever the reasons for the challenges you're facing- the powerful message of hope and deliverance found in Psalm 40. She boldly declares God's promise to hear your cries, to establish your feet on solid ground, and to graciously, faithfully, and lovingly provide all that you need in every circumstance of your life.

Life can be excruciating. Crushing, in fact. The sheer magnitude of our worries can press down on our heads and, one inch at a time, we unknowingly descend into a pit of despair. Something so horrible can happen that we conclude we'll never be okay again. We can blow it so badly we think God would just as soon we stayed under that dirt and out of his sight. But if we're willing to let truth speak louder than our feelings and long enough that our feelings finally agree, we can be far more than okay. We can be delivered to a place where the air is crisp, the enemy is whipped, and the view is magnificent.
The Bible teaches that there are no lost causes; no permanent pit-dwellers except those who refuse to leave. Every person can know complete redemption in Jesus Christ, purpose for life, and fullness of joy. No, life won't ever be easy but the trade-off is a spin around Planet Earth that actually means something. I am convinced that when the last chapter of each life story is recorded in the annals of heaven, people would rather have lived out their fullness of days with purpose than without pain.
My life passion is to encourage people to come to know and love Jesus Christ through the study of His  Word. My life message within that passion, however, is complete and glorious freedom. The kind only Christ can bring. I do not know why, but it has never  been enough for me to be free. I want you to be free to. It is not enough for me to know the thrill of God's presence. I want you to know it too. I want you to know the power of His Word that can defy every addiction, heal any affliction, and plug up every pit. I want you to know a love that is better than life.

"I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He has put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and will trust in the Lord." Psalm 40: 1-3

"Every Person can know complete redemption in Jesus Christ, Purpose for Life, and fullness of joy."

When God Winks on New Beginnings by Squire Rushnell

Whether you're starting out or starting over, it's comforting to know you're never alone- God is watching and guiding your every step.

Oftentimes he sends little assurances to you through so-called "coincidences" or suddenly opens a door of opportunity and encouragement at just the right time- little "godwinks" letting you know he's there.

If you're standing at a new threshold in life and need a boost of reassurance, When God Winks on New Beginnings will ignite your spirit with powerful, true stories of people just like you who have followed the "signposts of encouragement," and watched how godwinks mapped their paths to destiny.

"Look inside yourself, at the goals and dreams God has planted inside of you, and identify what you need to be happy, then put things in motion to secure that happiness." Robin McGraw

Hope for Each Day by Billy Graham

A 365-Day Journaling Devotional

"Therefore I live for today- certain of finding at sunrise Guidance and strength for the way. Power for each moment of pain, comfort for every sorrow, sunshine and joy after rain."

Preface: For many years I have sought to walk with God every day. What a joy it is to wake up in the morning and know He is with me, no matter what the day has in store. What a joy it is to look back in the evening and be able to thank Him for his faithfulness and to experience His peace. What a joy it is to know that someday soon the burdens of this life will be over and I will awaken in His presence.

When I think about God's love, I tend to dwell upon all the good things He has done for us. But then I must stop and realize that even when circumstances have been hard or the way unclear, God has still surrounded me with his love. God's love is just as real and just as powerful in the darkness as it is in the light. And that is why we can have hope. Every day I turn to the Bible to give me strength and wisdom for the day and hope for the future. Its words have seen me through good times and bad-through times of happiness and grief, health and sickness, victory and disappointment. God's word can do the same for you.
May God use these daily selections to encourage you and give you hope. May they also challenge you both to live more fully for Christ each day and to trust His great love-no matter what comes your way.                                                                                                             -Billy Graham

Angels by Billy Graham

ringing assurance that we are not alone..

that we are assisted and defended by a powerful and Glorious Order of Invisible beings.

  • God's invisible hosts are far better organized than any of the armies of man or satan.
  • Angels "think, feel, will, and display emotions."
  • They are "ministering servants" who can appear or remain invisible as they perform the tasks that God assigns them.
  • Angels aren't all "sweetness and light"- they are also God's agents of judgment on disobedience
  • Angels guide, comfort, and provide for the people of God in the midst of suffering and persecution.
  • At death, the faithful will be ushered by angels into the presence of God.
  • Here is a ringing assurance to all Christians that through angels God is present for His people  and we can take comfort in the fact that, with the host of them at God's call, we are not alone.

Hurt Healer by Tony Nolan

reaching out to a broken world..

"Through the pages of his life, Tony Nolan challenges and encourages us to reach out fearlessly and let the hurting see God in us. Hurt Healer compassionately and practically gives you the goods to pull it off right now!"                                                                 -Toby Mac

"Tony masterfully uses the ancient parable of the Good Samaritan and his own modern-day life story to prove that God was, and still is, the ultimate hurt healer. Part exposition, part memoir, part devotional; and all worth reading."                                         -David Nasser, author

"The church is in desperate need of the truths that Tony has so beautifully shared in the pages of Hurt Healer. With each chapter I began to get more and more excited about the journey that God has me on to love those around me, and yet at the same time so convicted about my own love walk. Tony has an amazing gift in being able to take Bible stories we have heard countless times and make them come alive. This boom helps us to freely give as we've so freely received."                                                                                                -Alyssa Barlow

"Tony Nolan is one of my greatest friends. He loves Jesus with a passion like no one else I know. He loves his family as Christ loves the church. And he wakes up in the morning with a lost world on his heart. You will see his heart for Jesus and people as you read Hurt Healer. And you will be challenged to reach the world one person at a time!"                                                                                          -Mark Hall, Casting Crowns

If you haven't picked this book up yet, you are really missing out my friend! Especially if you are feeling hurt and broken.

He Chose Nails by Max Lucado

What God did to claim your heart

Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the wonderful kindness he has poured out on us because we belong to his dearly loved son. He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his son, and our sins were forgiven...
God's secret plan has now been revealed to us; it is a plan centered on Christ-everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because of Christ,  we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as he decided long ago.
Ephesians 1: 4-7, 9-11 NLT
